This is it: “Bottom-line, as long I think you are creating the shit in my life, I’m disempowered and stuck.” Well said!

Loved this!!! By the time I got to the last paragraph I stood up and applauded!! Well said my friend! Nobody would ever be able to combine spirituality and politics in an article, especially in this day and age, like you can. Kind of an oxymoron! But you manage to blend them naturally and with perfect grace and elegance. Keep up the great writing - I’m enjoying my Sunday read!

“If we are willing to replace comparing privileges with intentional, compassionate, conscious conversations about our unique human perspectives of this thing we call life we will bask, indeed, in all manner of freedom and empowerment.”

"Why are we not always asking, What is it like to be you?" Yes, yes, yes! Keep 'em coming, Steven. Indeed a great way to start off my Sunday (or any day)!

I loved this edition. I am welcoming of any perspective on the systemic racism and it's effects on all of us that it creates, threatens to disrupt, inspires, scares, throttles, awakens, and throws for a loop. More on this topic, please!

Let's see what happens as I respond to Bill, Cathy, Dwight, AND Andi here with, first, a big, giant THANK YOU. Obviously, I am wanting to have "these conversations" and this is but one format of the work I do (writing) and it's one that I treasure and prioritize. As such, it is of tremendous use and value when you, dear reader(s), of which there are, today, very few, offer feedback of any kind. As I've probably overstated, it definitely helps in the world of algorithms and "getting the word out." But far, far more it is gratifying and motivating on my end so please keep it up. I don't need much. :) For sure, Andi, there will be much more on this subject as the weeks and months unfold and I'll throw it back to you (and anyone): where do you/does one get "thrown for a loop" with the subject of systemic racism?

I find people, and even those who consider themselves "woke", liberal, open-minded, and anti-racist, getting very worked up and angry about current BLM and other movements. People are getting offended and hurt instead of looking at our society openly and with new, fresh eyes. Some refuse to believe that this could even be happening and I find it so sad and frustrating.

"Vastly different experiences." I love THAT! And, really, it sure seems like that's what it's all about. So happy to see you here.
