We are anchoring a new consciousness in America and key to our practice is defining, looking forward to, and cultivating what’s wanted — in the future. But just for kicks, I thought it would be fun for a little while to think about an array of thoughts, ideas, and experiences that will no longer infuse our political discourse or consume our precious time and energy.
When America’s consciousness reaches the tipping point and the shift from old to new has taken hold, all of what follows will cease to have any power. Sure, they may be referred to or uttered from time to time for some time, but they won’t resonate. People won’t really believe them anymore. Or care. Or they will have become obsolete.
For extra credit today, conscious politics practitioner, feel the feelings that accompany these words and ideas — because we won’t continue to attract to ourselves any more of all that energy either. In no particular order, what we’re leaving behind:
Military intelligence operation.
The war on cancer.
It’s impossible.
Mass shooting.
That’s unforgivable.
The candidate out-raised his opponent three to one.
We have to fight.
Drill, baby, drill.
Winner takes all.
Polarized electorate.
We are powerless.
Don’t meet your heroes.
Taking up arms.
Red state, blue state.
There’s nothing we can do.
Racism.
Military readiness.
It’s a zero sum game.
One in three people will get shingles.
Educational disparities.
Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Racial inequality.
The fight for voting rights.
The ends justify the means.
Enemies.
Gerrymander.
Congressional gridlock.
Sentenced to death.
Environmental degradation.
Trickle-down economics.
Domestic terrorism.
Rigged election.
Poverty.
Wedge issues.
I alone can fix it.
There is not enough.
You can’t fight city hall.
Uninsured Americans.
Illegal alien.
Endless war.
Gun violence.
GDP is a comprehensive measure of U.S. economic activity.
Active shooter drills.
They can’t be trusted.
Hate.
I feel sorry for you.
The homeless.
War.

To be sure, this list is anything but exhaustive. So, please, pile on if you’re so inspired. Or take exception if you’d like. Or, if you’re like me, just wave buh-bye.
NOTE: Save the date for it is that time again: The Conscious Politics Monthly Drop-In will take place on Tuesday, February 15. It’s the live, online version of this newsletter where we give voice in friendly conversation to the thoughts and ideas presented here and the thoughts and feelings they spark in you.
The Drop-In will take place from 5:00-6:30pm Pacific / 8:00-9:30pm Eastern.
Is it your belief and intention that this will occur in your lifetime?
I think not…….
“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” – George Santayana, The Life of Reason, 1905. From the series Great Ideas of Western Man.
So said the reasonable western man of 1905.
If this were true we wouldn’t have repeated history. Example, genocide and racism are alive and we’ll..,because we remember so well! Books, Films, etc.
Hence, we globally and locally re-hash historical atrocities over and over and over. Doomed to repeat that which lives in consciousness. Another major fallacy.
Thanks Steven…
