Excellent point and thanks for elucidating, Bill.

As it happens, I came across a piece yesterday by Maragaret Sullivan, also writing for the Post, calling for exactly what I'm talking about -- in July of this year. From her piece:

"There is a way out. But it requires the leadership of news organizations to radically reframe the mission of its Washington coverage. As a possible starting point, I’ll offer these recommendations:

"Toss out the insidious 'inside-politics' frame and replace it with a “pro-democracy” frame.

"Stop calling the reporters who cover this stuff 'political reporters.' Start calling them 'government reporters.'

"Stop asking who the winners and losers were in the latest skirmish. Start asking who is serving the democracy and who is undermining it.

"Stop being 'savvy' and start being patriotic."

I like these intentions for mainstream political journalism very much.

Here's the link to the article: https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/media/journalist-both-sides-politics-trump/2021/07/27/c3afd1f8-eee0-11eb-81d2-ffae0f931b8f_story.html

I'm going to reach out to see if I can find out what the reaction was to her piece and whether or not there is any kind of movement toward this.

Who to believe? The NYT that says that there is absolutely NO CRT being taught being taught to children in Virginia or.... a panel of parents that I listened to that were furious at the CRT that were being taught to their children. Are they just making this stuff up? What about the bathrooms that are now open to both sexes? A guy who decides he wants to be a girl was able to go into a girls bathroom and rape girls, not only once but twice? ... There is a reason the voting in Virgina went the way it did last November.
