My leader? Regardless, then he should be called out for it. The SYSTEM of government we have cannot withstand, I am positing, disingenousness writ large. If you ask me, we the people shouldn't tolerate any. So whether it's the president of the United States or the least powerful city councilmember in America, let's call out political disingenuousness -- saying one thing and believing another -- wherever we see it.
Well I am clearly communicating something I'm not intending to communicate if I am, in these pages, excusing "the left's hypocrisy." Please show me how/where so I can understand more.
I haven't personally experienced President Biden exhibiting disingneuousness, but I'm happy for you to show me where you see it because there's no place for it in a healthy, productive political system.
You say I pick on the right and I say, here anyway, I'm picking on disingenuousness. I think it's disingneuous for Senate Minority Leader McConnell to say that "voter integrity" bills are about voter integrity and that they don't discriminate against non-White people. I think it's disingenuous for ANY politician to continue talking about "voter fraud" in the U.S. and/or that the 2020 presidential election was "rigged" or "stolen." If we have done one thing right in our country it is how we administer elections: guidelines from the federal government, guidelines from state and county governments, guidelines from city and town governments, and ultra local control. I think it's disingenuous for fully vaccinated governors and other officeholders and pundits dissuading others from being vaccinated or proferring a diluted, convoluted "indiidual" freedom message to their base consumers and constitutents. I think it's disigenuous for highly-educated, politically active people to disparage something like a vaccine mandate today when such an action is in complete and total alignment with the public health system and policy we have had for decades. Want to change our public health policy? Have at it. But that's not what anyone's doing. I think it's disingenuous for people in positions of power who know for certain the truth about what's happening in Afghanistan but won't say so in public -- year after year. I think it's disigneuous for people in my home state of California to use the constitutional process of a gubernatorial recall election in ways it was not meant to be used. I already referred to abortion in this piece as another prime example of political disingenuousness and we could go on and on.
I accept that my views and opinions are often perceived to be "of the left" or "progressive" although I have not been the member of a political party since the mid-1990's and I think they are rooted in the conscious practice. I am one hundred percent for integrity in government. I am one hundred percent for encouraging it and electing ONLY people -- regardless of party -- who understand and appreciate what's required for government to function properly. I know it can. I know it can't with rank disingenuousness. So let's call it out and root it out wherever it is. If you want to show me where it is that I'm "always" excusing, please, show me.
